Frequently asked questions
How does the tire decision guide work?
You pick your tire size, season, vehicle type and whether you drive off pavement. The guide finds tires in that size in our store and ranks them by how well each model's category matches your answers, then by price.
Where do I find my tire size?
It is printed on the tire sidewall (for example 225/60R17) and on the placard inside the driver's door jamb or in your owner's manual.
What is the difference between all-season, all-weather, winter and summer tires?
All-season tires are built for year-round use in moderate climates. All-weather tires are also marked with the three-peak mountain snowflake symbol for severe snow. Winter tires are for cold, snow and ice, and summer tires are for warm weather.
Are the recommendations based on tests or ratings?
No. The guide uses each model's manufacturer category (season, terrain and vehicle type) and current price. It does not use test results or reviews.
